SABINA SARIN
Sex Therapist (MSc, MPhil, PhD)
Dr. Sabina Sarin is a licensed clinical psychologist, educator, somatic experiencing practitioner, and yoga/ mindfulness teacher, with over 15 years of experience in treating individuals and couples with a wide range of sexual and relational difficulties. Dr. Sarin completed her Masters degrees (MSc, MPhil) at Yale University, and obtained her PhD in Clinical Psychology from McGill University. She has worked in several private clinics and hospitals in both Ontario and Quebec, and was appointed Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Associate Professor of Psychology at McGill University, where she trained psychiatry and psychology interns in the principles and practices of sex therapy and somatics. In private practice, she has worked with people struggling with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and traumatic stress, in addition to sexual dysfunctions (low desire/ arousal/anorgasmia/ sexual pain/ erectile difficulties/premature ejaculation), and sexual anxiety/ shame/poor awareness and communication. Dr. Sarin is
particularly recognized for her work on the somatic treatment of sexual difficulties as well as her published studies on the mind-body interaction in sexual desire and arousal difficulties in men and women. She has also written book chapters in seminal textbooks on female sexual arousal and body image and sexuality. As an expert in these areas, she has conducted a handful of radio, TV, and
newspaper interviews, and has delivered numerous talks at international conferences. She has also conducted research on the sexual functioning and mental health of those in the sex industry and has run trauma informed yoga with survivors of the Asian sexual trafficking industry.
Dr. Sarin applies a self-empowering, dynamic and humanistic approach to therapy, incorporating practices from Cognitive Behavioural, Mindfulness and Acceptance-Based Therapies, and Somatic Therapies. She particularly specializes in mind-body practices to help people “get out of their minds” and
into their embodied experiences. In addition to the tools she offers, she believes that the relationship between the client and therapist is at the heart of the therapeutic process. and will provide a warm, authentic, and safe space for clients to voice to what has been silenced, and to work through the barriers to the changes they seek to make.

Outside of her work, Dr. Sarin loves hiking/ rock climbing, creating music (and other forms of art), learning new things, and exploring the unexplored.
